Hello VEG Online members,
We hope this email finds you in the best of health & spirits, enjoying the Christmas holidays and all related activities and opportunities to have fun. We'd like to thank everyone who participated in and supported your VEG Online Meetup group since we started it in the spring of this year. Since starting VEG Online we've posted over 160 vegetarian, health, and cruelty reduction events from across Alberta to your VEG Online Events Calendar making VEG Online the most active vegetarian, health and cruelty-reduction group in our province and with the busiest vegsite, easily outdoing Meetup groups 5 or 6 times our size! VEG online was the second busiest Meetup group in Alberta with only www.CAUSEonline.info being busier! We'd like to also thank everyone who has started discussions, shared interesting information and contributed to your extensive VEG Online discussion forums on your VEG Online "Message board". We've recently created online discussion forums related to veg gardening, and vegetarian health and beauty products as well and would welcome your contributions & input. For those of you that support VEG Online but haven't found the opportunity to participate online or in person yet, we need your help the most. Help us improve your group, by informing us about events and activities that you are interested in and by contributing information that interests you to our Online discussion forums, etc. so VEG Online can be more relevant and appealing to your interests. If there is something we are not doing but should be, please volunteer to help us do it. We really need everyone's help to make this project work and to keep it growing sustainably, in order to help make vegetarianism happen in our province and beyond. Please, if you can make a new years resolution to try and visit your www.VEGonline.info site for at least 5 minutes every week to check/contribute daily updates to your VEG Online discussions and Alberta's most happening VEG-events calendar, you will make all our efforts much more worthwhile. A second and even more important New Year's resolution we'd like everyone to make is to invite and sign up at least 10 new members from your circle of friends, family, colleagues, girlfriends/boyfriends, people you've just met and are trying to impress! etc., virtually anybody interested in sustainable, ethical & healthy living, VEG Eating, food prep, and gardening, ASAP so we can turn this project into a mainstream movement to better our province, country and planet. We need at least 1,000 members so our governments, and different corporations etc. will start taking our issues much more seriously. We need volunteers from all across this great province to help co-organize VEG Online, add events to your calendar, recruit new members from your regions, and to help keep our online VEG discussions going so if you can spare an hour a week and can keep us all updated as to vegetarian events in your region, please step forward and offer to help. Please also complete your personal group profiles (by clicking on your name and "edit profile") so we can put you on the right mailing lists only informing you about the vegetarian topics you are interested in and about local vegetarian events happening in your area. We hope to be holding an organizational meeting in January to get even more things happening with this group so please keep you eyes open to our events calendar.. Thanks for your support and best wishes for the new year. Atul www.VEGonline.info www.meetup.com/vegeatup (Alberta Vegetarian Eatup Group) |
